Mr. Chiang is a presenter at Phoenix Satellite Television since 2003. He is responsible for anchoring news programs on the Phoenix Chinese Channel, like “The Asian Journal”, “Phoenix Afternoon Express”, “Info Express”, and hourly news programs on the Phoenix Infonews Channel. Both channels are broadcasted to households in the Greater China region and throughout the rest of Asia continent, as well as Americas and Europe.
In October 2015, the Phoenix Infonews Channel launched a brand new, fifteen-minute daily program titled “The News Circle”, which encompasses news sources from social media, new media, and traditional media on the attitudes and point of views of social elites, opinion leaders, heads of states on specific news topics. Mr. Chiang rearranges these materials and presents them in a talk-show fashion, informing with quips.
Mr. Chiang has also hosted a variety of entertainment and sports programs (covered the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 World Cup South Africa), as well as hosted the regional finals and the finals of the “Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant” for several years.
On occasion, cultural documentary-the “Premium Spectacular” sends Mr. Chiang on assignments to different parts of mainland China and abroad to cover stories on local traditions and histories, with a unique Phoenix perspective.
Mr. Chiang is also an accomplished MC who has hosted various events and award ceremonies including the “Boao Forum for Asia”, “You Bring Charm to the World Award”, “Grammys in Chengdu 2013”, and the “Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition”. Academic forums and discussions, major press conferences are no strangers to Mr. Chiang either, where he fluently hosts them in dual languages Mandarin and English.
Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Chiang worked in the Silicon Valley in California, as a technical writer for a small startup firm during the height of the .com era starting since 1999.
Mr. Chiang graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications. He currently resides in Hong Kong’s New Territory area with his wife Lily Siu, a Cantonese-speaking news anchor at Phoenix Hong Kong Channel, and his two daughters.
